Privacy policy

Editor's note: this is a starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed for your own jurisdiction (Poland) before you publish it.

Data controller

The controller of castlestovisit.com is Aleksander Uznański. Contact: contact@castlestovisit.com. Jurisdiction: Poland.

What we collect

The site needs no account and no registration. We use Google Analytics 4, which processes usage data (IP address in anonymised form, device type, pages viewed, approximate location) for statistics. GA cookies are stored in your browser; you can decline them in the cookie banner or block them in your browser settings. If you email us or send a correction, we process your address and message only in order to reply.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Where the GDPR or an equivalent regime applies, analytics processing rests on the controller's legitimate interest in measuring and improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where your local law requires consent for analytics cookies, that consent — given in the cookie banner — is the basis instead, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Retention and recipients

Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in Google Analytics and is processed by Google as our processor, which can involve transfers outside your country under the safeguards Google publishes. Where ads are shown, they may be served by third parties (for example Google AdSense) under their own policies.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For anything concerning your data, write to contact@castlestovisit.com.

Where the place data comes from

Place data comes from open sources: Wikidata (CC0), OpenStreetMap (ODbL), Wikimedia Commons (per-file CC/PD). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. Details and licences — see the Terms of use.
